NEW | The Hark!1945 font is available for download on Creative Market.
Christmas is bittersweet but festive. World War 2 is finally over. Attention will soon shift to the Space Age and the Cold War, and at the moment, visuals have a feeling of lightness, whimsy, and dancing. Some lettering during the war (especially on publications meant to encourage the war effort on the homefront) conveyed a cartoonish pleasantness that was later adapted to the 1950s space age aesthetic. Hark!1945 feels cartoonish.
It’s disjointed but joyful.
Perhaps vaguely international in places (with all the troops coming home?!). Even a bit curvy: but with a definite sharpness…Creativity and generosity made Christmases meaningful and memorable during a difficult time.
Hark!1945 celebrates the end of that war.

JUST A NOTE | Creative Market is a world-class platform for design assets. At the moment it is the simplest means of providing an interactive demo for fonts, in addition to downloads. There are more options coming up for the sale of digital products, and I’m looking forward to being a part of the innovations taking place in peer-to-peer, decentralized trade.
